Lauren McGibbon is an actor, improvisor and instructor based in Vancouver. She was a member of the MainStage Ensemble at Vancouver TheatreSports Improv Centre for twelve years starting in 2009. During her time at the company she performed weekly at the Improv Centre Theatre’s home venue on Granville island doing five improv comedy shows a week. Through the company she also travelled the globe performing at Festivals including Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto and London, UK. Theatresports also partnered with Princess Cruise Lines to provide entertainment to guests on trips from Alaska to the Caribbean. Lauren was also an Instructor at the company’s school Improv Comedy Institute for Five Years.
As a writer she created several showcase formats including “O! Canada!” which was one of the companies most successful summer shows.
Through stand up comedy Lauren has appeared at Just For Laughs Northwest and the Yuk Yuk’s funniest comic competition.
As an actor her film and television credits include NBC’s Trial & Error, Netflix A Series of Unfortunate Events and most recently she starred in the Netflix family series Scaredy Cats as the villainous witch Wilma Winkle.
