Vancouver has firmly established itself as a mecca for voice-over production, attracting some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry to record their projects in our picturesque city. The booming animation industry, video games, commercials, and film narration have all contributed to the city’s growth as a voice-over epicenter. Major production studios have set up shop here, and the demand for skilled voice-over artists is ever-increasing.
Vancouver has been home to numerous blockbuster productions that have captivated audiences worldwide. Iconic animated series and movies, popular video games, and top-notch commercials have all benefitted from actors who got their start in our studios. Notable productions among this long list include:
- Lego: Legends of Chima (Animated Series) – This popular and fun animated series featured an ensemble cast of talented voice-over artists, with our very own alumnus, Jeff Evans-Todd, lending his voice to one of the main characters, Razar. The show’s success highlights the caliber of talent our school nurtures.
- Dragalia Lost (Video Game) – The gaming industry has long relied on Vancouver’s voice-over talents, and Realm of Legends is no exception. Our alumnus Brian Doe masterfully voiced a number of characters, including Alain, Ricardt and Wu Kong, bringing depth and intensity to the roles.
- My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Animated Series) – As one of the biggest franchises in the entire voice-over industry, our alumna Katrina Salisbury‘s versatile voice captured hearts as the widely adored character Yona Yak.
Our 6-month diploma program focuses on providing students with comprehensive voice-over training, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in this competitive industry. This includes not only the mic technique and character creation, but also the deeper acting skills like text analysis, improv, audition and scene study which are necessary whether you are in the booth or in front of the camera. Our experienced instructors are industry professionals themselves, who work on movies, television shows and cartoons that are students are typically very familiar with. This ensures that our students receive practical insights and up-to-date techniques or what is truly happening in the industry today.
