David James Lewis

David James Lewis, born and raised in Vancouver, BC, discovered his passion for acting at a young age. His career began with commercials, independent films, and short films, including the award-winning Shoes Off in 1999, which won Best Short Film International Critics Week at Cannes.

David thrives in the independent film scene, finding it some of his most fulfilling work. He has shared the screen with notable actors such as Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly in The Day the Earth Stood Still, William H. Macy in the award-winning Door to Door, and Aubrey Plaza in the Child’s Play reboot.

His television credits include appearances in Dead Like Me, The L Word, X-Files, Supernatural, Fringe, and numerous Movie of the Week productions over the past decade. David has had recurring roles in Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, Rogue, Motive, Intruders, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.

In addition to acting, David is a writer, having contributed to the web series Parked and writing various short films, including Stalled, which screened in 23 film festivals worldwide. He proudly keeps his Leo Award, earned for his contributions to the entertainment industry, next to his bed.

"As an actor my favourite thing is the process of unlocking a script and creating a character. My second favourite thing is helping students figure this process out. Watching an actor grow over the course of a term is incredibly exciting. I love what I do!"
