Looking to stumble onto a larger-than-life, alternate world on your commute?
In Metro Vancouver, there’s always a chance that could happen. Hollywood North teems with film productions big and small, with A-list celebs and emerging actors navigating the rainy season and those glorious three-ish months of summer that make so many locals look deliriously happy.
Several major productions recently wrapped filming this month, including Percy Jackson and the Olympians – Season 3, which was planned to finish on March 13. Another one, In a Holidaze, is a Netflix film based on the 2020 book of the same name and completed its Lower Mainland filming on March 12.
The CBS medical drama Watson, about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes’s famous companion, was slated to wrap on March 9. Two shows wrapped just a few days later on March 13: a crime drama for CBC Gem called Wild Cards, and Hope Valley 1874, a new eight-episode series from the When Calls the Heart universe.
But some wraps don’t stop this regional Hollywood train from rolling to a neighbourhood near you.
