Elysia Rotaru to Play New Flame on Season 4 of Arrow

Entertainment Weekly reports that Elysia Rotaru (@elysiarotaru) has been signed to play Oliver Queen’s former love interest in the upcoming fourth season of The CW’s Arrow.

At the end of season three fans finally got to see Oliver and longtime flame Felicity ride off into the sunset. Fortunately, Elysia’s role doesn’t spell the end of what Arrow fans have deemed “Olicity”. Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim explained that “Oliver will have a love interest in the past that will serve as a parallel or potentially a contrast to his love affair with Felicity in the present. We have a really great surprise for the season premiere for the flashbacks, and it’s made talking about the flashbacks very difficult. We pick up basically in real time. It’s been a number of months later since the last flashback. Oliver is in Coast City, as eagle-eyed viewers noted when he boarded the boat at the end of Season 3.”

Details beyond that are still under wraps, but fans are anticipating that Elysia’s role may tie in some Green Lantern mythology into the fourth season of this Vancouver shot production.

Elysia adds Arrow to her growing list of credits including other fan favorite’s, Supernatural, iZombie, Motive, Fringe, Sanctuary and more.

Arrow is just one of many productions that have chosen to use Vancouver as their backdrop. Shows like Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, The 100, Continuum, The Flash and more all film in Vancouver, taking advantage of great local talent and beautiful settings.

We’re looking forward to seeing Elysia join the ever-expanding DC universe! Arrow will premiere its fourth season on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
